Greetings from Shaun

With only one day left in the term, it is hard to believe how much we have packed into the past ten weeks. From camps and excursions to swimming, sporting events and classroom learning, there has certainly been plenty happening across the school.

Our Grade 5/6 students had a fantastic time at Lady Northcote Camp, while our 3/4 students enjoyed their swimming program and developed their confidence in the water. Students across the school also enjoyed a number of memorable learning experiences, including the Year 3/4 excursion to Healesville Sanctuary and the Year 1/2 visit to the Royal Botanic Gardens. These experiences helped bring classroom learning to life and provided real world opportunities for students to learn in new and engaging environments.

We also had students representing Northcote Primary School at district and division cross country events, participating in Gala Day, and taking part in programs such as the Maths Olympiad and Maths Explorer.

Of course, alongside all of these exciting experiences, our students have been working incredibly hard in their classrooms every day. It has been wonderful to see the persistence and growth they have shown throughout the term.

Don't forget that tomorrow, Friday the 26th of June, is the final day of Term 2 and students will finish at 2:30pm.

Before we finish the term, I would also like to remind families that I will be taking a period of long service leave and will return on Monday the 3rd of August.

Rebecca Garrow will be Acting Principal during this time.

I hope everyone has a safe and well-deserved break, and I look forward to hearing about all the adventures from the holidays when I return for Term 3.

Parent Teacher Conferences

Parent Teacher Conferences will be held on Wednesday the 22nd of July. These meetings provide an opportunity for families and teachers to discuss student progress and learning goals.

Students will finish school at 12:00pm on this day to allow conferences to take place. Families can book conference times through Compass, with further information available in the Compass notification.

OSHC are running an Alernative Program, booking are essential.

We are also offering an Onsite Program, a Compass has been sent out and all booking information is available there.

End of Term Reminders

As we head towards the end of term, a few quick reminders can help our days run smoothly. Arriving at school on time and being organised for the day ahead sets students up for success and helps minimise disruption to learning.

Our school gates open at 8:45am and are locked at 3:45pm each day. If your child arrives late or needs to leave early, please remember to sign them in or out through the office.

Tuesdays and Wednesdays are also meeting nights for staff, so we appreciate families collecting students promptly at the end of the day.

When using the Kiss and Go zone, please keep traffic moving and avoid leaving your vehicle unattended. We also ask all families to model safe road use by using designated crossings and taking extra care around the school at busy drop off and pick up times.

Curriculum Day Monday the 13th of July

A reminder that students return for Term 3 on Tuesday the 14th of July. Monday the 13th of July is a Curriculum Day and students are not required to attend school.

Take care,

Shaun
