Planet Ark is an Australian not-for-profit environmental behaviour change organisation.

They have established successful programs to help make a positive difference to our natural world. Examples of some are:

  • National Tree Day

Since its establishment in 1996, almost 26 million trees have been planted by Australian communities. Nearly 300,000 people each year volunteer to take part in environmental activities that educate them about the world around them. National Tree Day has grown into Australia's largest community tree-planting and nature care event.

  • Cartridges 4 Planet Ark

Cartridges 4 Planet Ark is a recycling program that provides people with an easy and environmentally accredited way to recycle their used printer cartridges. Since 2003, the program has recycled over 49 million cartridges, with zero waste to landfill.

An amazing total of $420 was raised from this fundraiser. Thank you to the Rotary Club for donating the gift cards, Marina (Vice President of Interact Club) for organising the raffle, the students who helped with selling and promoting the raffle and Ms James for supervising this fundraiser.

Look out for the Interact Clothes Drive!

If you or your family members have any clothes you don’t want any more that are in good condition, you can bring them to school to donate to our Interact Clothing Drive. All donated clothes will be given to the Salvation Army. Please don't donate anything that is damaged, ripped, stained or in any way faulty. As a simple rule, if there's something wrong with it then the Salvation Army can’t use it.

The donation boxes will be in the Middle School Office and the Library from Monday 22 August until Friday 1 September.
