Work Experience 2024 and WorldSkills Australia National Championships
The Work Prep Team at the College have started to plan and arrange work experience placements for our Year 11 and 12 Career and Enterprise students for 2024.
Year 10 and 11 students are reminded to check their Direqt Messages from Mrs Monica Stirling and ensure that they complete their online pathways preference form by Friday 1 September.
There are a number of local businesses that support our Work Experience Program. If any parents or guardians would like to offer a work experience placement to our students, please contact the Work Prep Team (wpl@norbert.wa.edu.au).
Mrs M Stirling
(Director of VET)
Congratulations to Luke Seaman (Year 12) who competed in the WorldSkills Australia National Championships in Melbourne last weekend, representing Team WA in the VET in Schools Information Technology category. Unfortunately, Luke did not win a medal on this occasion, however, he did receive a Gold Medal at the regional competition last year.
Luke is a student of many talents and has embraced vocational training enthusiastically over the last two years. He is currently studying a Certificate III in Information Technology and a Certificate III in Sport and Recreation at the College. This is in addition to his school based traineeship at GSO Stainless Engineering where he is completing a Certificate II in Engineering. Luke approaches all learning tasks with calm professionalism, and is a great ambassador for the vast opportunities that can be found through VET in Schools.
We're incredibly proud of you, Luke.
