Twelfth Night at the State Theatre

On Thursday 17 August, our Year 11 and 12 English Literature students, along with Miss Shirley Leddy, Mrs Alexandra Ericson and Mr Peter Hawke travelled to the Heath Ledger Theatre in Perth for the school matinee performance of Shakespeare's hilarious 'Twelfth Night', performed by Bell Shakespeare.

Whilst the set was simple it was used effectively, which highlighted the humorous elements of the play, and created much laughter for the audience. There was a modern twist to the production, which saw actors changing heir modern outer garments at the side of the stage. This allowed the audience to see all aspects of the production, which was an excellent opportunity for our students to follow stage craft and stage directions. It was a fantastic performance, with students giving the actors a standing ovation.

Bell Shakespeare actors were generous with their time, answering students questions after the performance during a Q&A session.
