Winter Appeal, Year 8 Serving at Home Program, Kimberley Immersion and Norbie Care Meals

Winter Appeal

On Thursday 17 August, the St Vincent de Paul Society collected the items we've collected for the Winter Appeal. They were both amazed and appreciative of the efforts of our College community. A big thank you to those who gave so generously.

Year 8 Serving at Home Program

Year 8 students should have completed three weeks of their Serving at Home Program and I hope that parents/carers are appreciating the extra assistance at home. Diaries are due back to Ms Margaret Kyd by Friday 8 September.

Kimberley Immersion

The support of our College community for the Kimberley Immersion has been nothing short of amazing. The other day one of our students said that he was 'so proud' of our community and 'so amazed' by all of the donations. We have over 500 pairs of shoes ready to be sent up to Kununurra next week. A truly phenomenal effort.

We are still a bit light on for the below items.

  • Ladies and children’s underwear - brand new.
  • Ladies roll on deodorant.
  • Bras - new and used in good condition.
  • Baby clothing - new and used in good condition.
  • Baby hygiene products.

We can't wait to share this experience with you all. Please like our Facebook page to keep up to date:

Norbie Care Meals

Our community has a wonderful tradition of looking after each other, especially those who need it most. This year alone our staff have provided over 50 evening meals for families at our College.

We are looking for some volunteers from our parent/carers community who would like to cook a meal that is suitable to freeze for a family in need. If you need some inspiration, some meals you could cook include pasta bake, lasagne, curry, soup, meat pies or quiche - but don't be afraid to cook a favourite from your kitchen too.

If you would like to cook a meal for a family this term, please email Ms Margaret Kyd (margaret.kyd@norbert.wa.edu.au) for more information.
