Junior School Athletics Day
Wow! What a fantastic afternoon of athletics!
Even though it was a windy day, the students from Grades 1 and 2 (along with Foundation students) enjoyed competing in six different activities.
They threw foam javelins in the hall, raced each other with eggs and spoons in the gallery, jumped hurdles, ran in relay races in the stadium, ran and jumped a long way into the sand pit on the bottom oval (long jump), and threw vortex on the top oval.
The Grade 1 and 2 students were split up into 6 different groups and rotated around each of the activities earning house points for their house.
At the writing of the newsletter, we still don't know who the winner is... but really it doesn't matter as students had a fabulous time, as did parents who were able to attend.
After the afternoon, students wrote about their experiences. Please enjoy their writing and enjoy the photos of the day below too.
All of the teachers were so proud of the students as they did their best in each activity, working collaboratively and helping each other.
