Visual Art

Foundation

Foundation students experimented with paint rollers and bubble wrap to create a mixed media artwork. They discussed composition and where to place objects, before they bubble wrap and blue paint to create a raindrop effect on their paper. Students completed their artwork by adding a paper umbrella and drawing themselves underneath it.

Grade 1 and Grade 2

Students in Grades 1 and 2 are energetically working on creating a 'pop-up grattitude garden' in their Visual Arts lessons. Inspired by the flower art from artist Barbera Gilhooly, they're using recycled cardboard and brightly coloured paint to design and produce their own flowers and plants.

Grade 3 and Grade 4

The Grade 3 and 4 students are in the process of creating 3D animal portraits. They are refining their painting skills and considering composition in their portraits.

Grade 5 and Grade 6

Students in Grades 5 and 6 have been experimenting with Gelli Plates to create botanically themed prints. They collected various leaves from the school grounds and practiced using the rubber rollers to spread the paint thinly. Students tried out different types of prints and techniques like layered prints and ghost prints before they made their final prints.
