Resilience Project

Martin Heppell exploded into our hall delivering an electrifying presentation generating lots of appreciation for friends, family, teachers and ourselves. Gratitude, Friendship and Kindness were the main messages. Being kind to someone else makes us feel happy and gives us a smile but it also makes that person happy and smile too. Smiles are contagious.

Martin asked us to reflect on how we feel when we show appreciation for others and to see how it makes them feel. The warm fuzzy feeling we get inside which then generates a happy smile on our faces, tells us how important showing sincere gratitude and appreciation of others truly is.

Think Kindness, Talk Kindness, Show Kindness.

Book Fair

What an exciting week it has been at the Book Fair each morning this week with many items on wish lists purchased to be enjoyed at home. A wide range of books including new releases and award winning classics were available to peruse or purchase. Thank you to all the staff and helpers who supported our fair.  Enjoy reading everyone.

Book Week is next week see details further in the newsletter with some great inspirational ideas for Dress Up day Friday 25th August. Please note that assembly will be rescheduled to the morning at 9:10 on Friday 25th allowing classes to mark the role and head out for the dress up parade.

Somers Camp

Many students in Year 5 and 6 recently attended the Somers Camp which promotes environmental awareness and outdoor activities whilst developing personal and social capabilities and resilience to meet change and challenges. Several students shared their experience at assembly today.

Uniform

There are many items of clothing left in the playground every day. Those named eventually are returned to the classroom however there are many unnamed articles including lunch boxes and drink bottles. The cupboard will be cleared out weekly.

A friendly reminder to collect lost property from the Lost Property Cupboard located near the Art room.

Hany Hints

  • Please label all items of clothing so your child can recognise their name
  • Try to refresh labels so they are clear to see
  • Fabric marker or permanent marker is a great idea and lasts through a few washes!
  • Encourage children to collect their clothing and bring home what they were dressed in that morning! 😊

Enjoy sharing a favourite picture story book over the weekend with your family.
