Read. Grow. Inspire!

We have experienced that one glorious week in August where we stop to celebrate books and take notice of our brilliantly creative Australian authors and illustrators. Each one challenged to come up with a poignant story around the theme, Read Grow Inspire. We always seem to fit it in around our busy school calendar, a weeklong book party! 

We’ve had something for each year level. Prep, Year 1 and 2 were intrigued with a visit from the Award-winning CBCA shortlisted author, Anna Walker. 

Years 3 to 6 were entertained by Way too Cool Productions, with Scholastic Book Fair and Book Week Chapel building on the excitement, culminating in our annual Book Character Dress Up Day. 

We welcomed seven Year 4 students who took on the role of becoming Shadow Judges for the very first time. They read all six books in the Younger Readers section; discussed, debated, and cast a vote with CBCA. It gave them a real chance to critique and have a voice that counts towards the National Shadow Judges Best Younger Readers Novel for 2023. 

All of this as we simply share our love for books!
