Principal's Message

Dear Holy Family Parents and Carers,

Lindfield Art Show and Fair

The 47th Lindfield Art Show and Fair has come and gone, leaving us with cherished memories of a weekend filled with joy, togetherness, and an unmistakeable sense of community spirit. I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to its success, and a huge thank you to Olwyn Connolly, our P&F president.  Her amazing energy and enthusiasm were the driving force behind every minute detail of the LASF’s success.

The school grounds and Mackillop Hall buzzed with excitement as families, friends, staff, parishioners, and neighbours gathered to celebrate the art show and fair. The air was filled with laughter and the scent of delicious food wafted through the air. The creativity of the magnificent artworks was truly inspirational. Throughout the three days, you could truly feel the warm, welcoming community spirit.

The live entertainment on Friday night and the performances on Saturday were nothing short of spectacular. There was something for everyone! The performers showcased their immense talent within our community, making us proud.

Food lovers were in for a treat with an enticing selection of culinary delights. From fairy floss, delicious cakes, and coffee, international food to the classic bacon and egg rolls. The food options truly catered to every palate. Oh, and I nearly forgot to mention the yummy gelato.

Children and adults alike revelled in the various activities. From face painting and carnival rides to the petting animal zoo and a thrilling jumping castle, there was never a dull moment. It was heart-warming to see the smiles on the faces of the children and adults.

Above all, the Lindfield Art Show and Fair brought our community together. It was a weekend to catch-up with old friends, make new ones and strengthen the bonds that make our community so special. Our special guests, the Honourable Major of Kuring-gai, Mr Jeff Pettet and our local member for Davidson, Mr Matt Cross, truly made it a community event. We were reminded once again of the strength that lies in our community.

As we bid farewell to the 47th Lindfield Art Show and Fair in 2023, we look forward to more opportunities to come together as a community. Let’s continue to nurture the spirit of togetherness that makes our community shine.

Expressions of Interest – School Sports Committee

Creating a school sports committee is a great way to promote and organize sports related activities within Holy Family. This committee can help plan and execute various sports events, ensure the well-being of student athletes, and foster a culture of physical fitness and sportsmanship.

We are currently looking for “Expressions of Interest” in our school community to commence a Holy Family School Sports Committee. The committee would consist of:

Parent representatives: 2-3 parents who represent the interests of parents of students-athletes and provides input and feedback on sports-related matters.

Student representatives:  ideally Sport Captains, who actively participate in sports and can provide valuable input and feedback from a students’ perspective. They help with organizing and promoting events to their peers.

Teacher advisor: the sports teacher who supports the committee’s activities and provides guidance. This person ensures the committee aligns with the school’s goals and values. Plans and organizes sports events, tournaments and competitions. Co-ordinates with CSBB coaches, teams and officials. Ensures all logistics are in place for successful events. Oversees the maintenance of sports equipment and facilities. Ensures the safety standards are met.

Principal: is responsible for overseeing the committee’s activities, leads meetings and ensures that tasks are delegated and completed. Acts as a liaison between the committee and the school administration.

The committee would meet once a term to plan, evaluate, and execute sports-related initiatives, ensuring a vibrant and inclusive sports culture within the school. Communication and collaboration among members are key to its success.

If you are interested in being part of this exciting committee, please email your Expression of Interest to pauline.dinale@dbb.catholic.edu.au
