Prep
👰🏼♀️🤵🏻It was a very exciting time for the Preps as we said 'Good Luck and Congratulations!' to Miss Anker as she took leave to get married. We celebrated with cards, gifts, cupcakes and the best part - dancing the Zorba on the basketball court with Miss Anker and our Grade 6 buddies! When she comes back at the start of Term 4, she will be Mrs Dimitriou, which we will try our best to remember!
📰 🗞️We have enjoyed listening to all the news, stories and interesting facts in our News Groups so far. Please find attached the final News Groups timetable for Term 4. We will be starting in week 1 with 'Share a special moment from your holiday'.
🏈 What a fun morning we had at our footy / sport parade this morning!
Grades 1 & 2
We completed our CBL challenge to 'raise awareness of a threatened species' by planning, developing and holding a fantastic market. What a celebration of all their learning! The market was an event that not only raised money for our threatened species but it also showcased all our students' hard work. The students chose which animal they would like to protect and from there on, they worked in a grade with all of the students from Grade One and Two who also wished to save that particular animal. They studied their chosen animal and discovered the threats for this species, then they went into action to produce information to share with others and to create a product that they could sell to raise money to help save their animal. We raised $1000, which will be given to Melbourne Zoo as they have conservation projects for all of the animals we chose. Our animals are, the Baw Baw frog, the Mountain Pygmy possum, the Brush-Tailed Rock wallaby, the Helmeted Honey-Eater and the Koala.
The students received a special message from the Detection Dog Squad Team at Melbourne Zoo, which was kindly organised and shared by Mia Cobb, a parent of Juno in Grade One. We hope you enjoy watching this special message too!

Grades 3 & 4
What a way to end Term 3!
The grade 3/4s enjoyed three sunny days on Phillip Island this week, completing camp activities, exploring Amaze'n Things, visiting the little penguins and walking the boardwalks of The Nobbies. With ripping attitudes and big smiles all round, we couldn't have asked for a better time away!
Grades 5 & 6
It has been a busy and exciting end to our term in Grade Five and Six. We have been fortunate enough to participate in a variety of different programs over the last two weeks. Selected students headed off to District Athletics. These students represents Wonga Park in a range of different athletic and field events. Well done to all those students who participated.
Some Grade Five and Six students also headed to Kilsyth Basketball Stadium last Friday to represent our school in our annual Hoop Time competition. Well done and congratulations to all students, teams, captains and coaches.
In the lead up to holidays we have also been very busy in the classrooms preparing all our learning snapshots which are available on Showbie. A huge congratulations to all students on their hard work this term.
From all the staff at Wonga Park, we hope everyone has a restful break and we can’t wait to see you back in term 4!
