Senior School House Athletics
A huge congratulations to all our senior school students on their participation and representation of King's College at our Senior Athletics Carnival on Friday 25th August. It was terrific to see so many students featuring a splash of house colour and a healthy amount of competitive spark. Fueled by an exceptional spread from our PTFA, students competed in the sun, the wind and even some rain to best the elements and stack up points for their house. With Mr. Rouse featuring in our Tug of War, and parents participating in the "Parent/Teacher Athletics", there was plenty of smiles all round. A special thank you to all our Senior School teachers and parents for your support in facilitating and organsising the day. These days are only made possible by many hands so thank you to each of you for your contributions.
Special mentions must also go to each of our individual age group champions below:
- 12/13 Years: Anneliese S & Tobi J
- 14 Years: Emily D & David M
- 15 Years: Esther W & Blake W
- 16 Years: Isabella R & Lachlan D
- 17-20 Years: Eliana V & Wyatt G
Finally, a special congratulations to Calvin House! Wahoo! Taking the day by over 250 points, it was another convincing win for Mr. Bail's favourite house.
Stay tuned for our next article as our top athletes head to the Western District Competition next Tuesday 5th September to take on the other Senior Schools of our district.

South West Zone Clay Target Shooting
Our Clay Target Shooting team went out to Noorat for the South West Zone Clay Target Competition on Thursday 24th August. The competition was a bit trickier than normal for all competitors, with a strong wind pushing from behind. This meant that the targets were pushed down sooner than normal, and competitors had to shoot at the targets faster than they might normally have to. All our students competed with safety and great sportsmanship for the judges and other competitors.
Esther (Year 9), managed to improve on her second round to place her in equal first for Senior Girls with another competitor. This meant she had to enter a shoot-off for first and second place, Esther dropped two targets in the shoot-off while the other competitor only dropped one, placing Esther in second. She did a great job as the wind speed lifted and changed direction increasing the difficulty the Girls had to shoot in. Esther has earned a place to go to Echuca for the state titles and will be competing on Monday 4th September. Please congratulate all the students when you see them.
