School Improvement

We undertake ongoing improvement work to ensure that our school is the best it can possibly be for our students, families, staff and community.  Throughout the last four years, we have focused on the important areas of reading, writing and Mathematics achieving strong improvement and results in all three areas.  Wellbeing has been a priority and The Tally Way has become our ethos as well as our whole-school wellbeing and positive behaviour program.

We have posted a survey for parents and carers via ClassDojo, asking for input to help us with our planning for the next 4 years.  We will share it again soon and would like to hear from as many parents and carers as possible.  We want to make sure that we carefully progress our work to keep what we (i.e. parents, carers, students, staff and community) love about our school, while also continuing to improve.

Thank you to all the parents and carers who will support our work by responding to the survey!

Prep Excursion

Our Prep children had a wonderful time at their first school excursion this week.  They visited the Currumbin Outdoor Environmental Centre and enjoyed a range of fabulous learning experiences, investigating, exploring and playing.

Eisteddfod

I commend all Tallebudgera State School students who have recently competed in the Gold Coast Eisteddfod for positively representing our school through their outstanding conduct.

Congratulations to these groups who were recognised through the competition in the last fortnight:

  • Senior Choir – 3rd place
  • Junior Choir – 3rd place
  • Senior Dance – 2nd Place

iConnect

We have recently advertised an information session for parents and caregivers about our iConnect program via ClassDojo.  We encourage all students from Year 3 – Year 6 to bring an iPad to school to participate in the iConnect program.  Through iConnect, children are supported to access an enhanced way of teaching and learning, developing essential skills for communication, collaboration and creativity.  We ask parents and caregivers of Year 2 students to please attend the information session (if possible) if they have any questions about the program so that our team can assist.

Father’s Day

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads and other special adults in the lives of our students for this Sunday!  A very big thank  you to our P&C and fabulous volunteers for organising and running this year’s Father’s Day Stall as a service to families and our students.  Children enjoyed selecting gifts from the stall and seem very excited about giving them on Sunday.

Thank you to Wicked Beans at Man on the Bike for supporting our Father’s Day stall this year!

Collaborative Planning

Next week, teaching teams will be provided additional time off class, working with our Curriculum Leaders to coordinate the learning programs and assessment for next term.  We conduct this collaborative planning every term as one of the ways that we ensure a consistently high standard of education throughout our school.

Reminder

Tomorrow, Friday, 1 September is a public holiday in recognition of the Gold Coast Show.
