It is with great pleasure to announce that two of our Senior students Maeve Patten and Evan Orgill have received early entry offers to the University of Newcastle.
Maeve has been offered entry into a Bachelor of Media and Communication Degree. Maeve has expressed a keen interest to work behind the scenes in TV/Film
Evan Orgill has been offered early entry into a Biomedical Science Degree. Evan loves biology and is keen to explore this interest even further.
Congratulations to the two of you. Your hard work and perseverance have certainly paid off.
Year 8.4 Science
Year 8.4 created models of cell animal and plant cells using jelly and candy. The jelly represented the cytoplasm of the cell while various lollies and fruit were used to highlight the different parts of the cell such as the nucleus, mitochondrion and cell membrane.
Creative Arts
Our Creative Art students visited the Glasshouse in Port Macquarie to view the Art Express exhibition. Art Express is a showcase of Year 12 art works of a high standard from last year’s HSC. It inspired our Year 11s who are about to start the HSC very soon. The Year 9 & 10s also enjoyed the experience….. as well as the shopping.
Thank you, Coastline Credit Union, for helping us with a grant to subsidise the excursion.
Marine Studies
Our Year 10 marine studies students thoroughly enjoyed an excursion to Nelson Bay, exploring the wonderful array of aquatic wildlife and learning about their life cycles and habitats. A big thank you to the Irukandji Shark and Ray Encounters at Anna Bay for the incredible experience of being able to go into the water with these amazing marine animals.
