Port Macquarie Basketball Knockout

5 KHS students travelled to the basketball stadium in Port Macquarie during Week 7 to participate in the Under 15's Knockout. The students who played were: Matahn Fernando, Tahlia Boyd, Quantaya Sines, Charlotte Brown and Nicola Giles.

We won our first game and then played in the semifinals. At one point in both games, we were only playing with 4 players. In particular game two was a tough match, but to their credit, the girls kept their heads up, communicated well as a team and Tahlia showed a lot of maturity giving the other team a handshake between free throws.

We didn’t have time for quarters but played 3 rounds of 10 mins. Game two - We were winning for the first two 10-minute rounds and then I think the exhaustion kicked in and one player down we lost a bit of momentum in the last 10 mins. Overall, very proud of the girls and so much improvement in a short time.

Please give the girls a big wrap for their efforts yesterday. They played with no subs, listened to feedback and improved significantly from game one, to game two. Tahlia and Quantaya even got a wrap from the other coach game two on their improvements and skills.

Under 14's and Under 16's Rugby Union 7's

Two girl's teams competed in a rugby 7's tournament in Port Macquarie during last month. Both the under 14's and under 16's girl's teams played three games, coming away with two wins each. The games were a showcase of the talent in the valley and both of the KHS teams really enjoyed the day.
