Tournaments of the Minds

On Saturday August 19, a group of Scoresby Secondary College students consisting of Jade Jones, Ethan Vi, Khushdip Kaur, Lily James and Harper Bennett contested the 2023 Tournament of the Minds competition at Deakin University Burwood.

This competition attracts competitors from schools all over Melbourne and Regional Victoria – both government and private schools.

The team participated in two challenges - a long term challenge which was the culmination of many weeks of work in terms one and two and a spontaneous challenge during which the students had to wrestle with a unique problem presented to them on the spot.

The Scoresby team performed extremely well in both events and the students gained valuable skills in problem solving, team building and lateral thinking.

I would like to thank both the students and their parents for their commitment to the Tournament of the Minds challenge and their willingness the represent Scoresby Secondary College in this prestigious event.
