Outdoor Education

Year 10 Outdoor Education
Outdoor Education is a semester two elective where students investigate outdoor environments, develop leadership skills and contribute positively to a group while minimising their environmental impact. To begin their outdoor adventures, students have been expanding their compass and map-reading skills, culminating in an excursion to Darebin Parklands on Friday 31st August to take on an orienteering challenge. Students valued experiencing an all-new outdoor environment and commented on how many people were out walking, riding bikes, enjoying a picnic on the river or participating in Bush Kinder amongst the trails.
VCE Outdoor & Environmental Studies
The Phillip Island Camp is running in Week 5 on Thursday 13th and Friday 14th August. Year 11 & 12 VCE Outdoor & Environmental Studies students are getting out and about in the great outdoors to study the importance of healthy environments, analyse the threats to outdoor environments, and explore strategies for sustaining outdoor environments into the future. Students will walk the Rhyll Wetlands, join the famous Penguin Parade tour, experience a sunrise beach walk, brave the winter surf, and tour the Koala Conservation Centre.
