High School Musical wrap up
It has been a true privilege to witness our students grow in confidence as they perform before an audience and truly shine. Whether showcasing their dance skills or projecting their voices, everyone involved in this year’s school musical has developed their talents, conquered their nerves, and become part of a creative, confident, and well-coordinated team.
Participation in activities like drama, music, and dance offers more than just performance skills — it enhances collaboration, critical thinking, deepens emotional understanding, and fosters meaningful connections.
I encourage all students at KHS to consider stepping outside their comfort zone and joining our Creative and Performing Arts groups in 2027. Whether you are interested in acting, singing, dancing, or working behind the scenes in stage management or design, there is a place for you. Participating in the arts is a wonderful opportunity to learn new skills, build friendships, and create lasting memories.
We look forward to seeing even more students explore their potential and share their talents in the years to come!
A heartfelt thank you goes to all the dedicated staff members who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make this incredible opportunity possible. Your passion, commitment, and hard work have been key to the success of this year’s school musical. Your encouragement and guidance have helped our students grow not only as performers but as confident individuals.
We would also like to extend our deepest gratitude to the parents, family members, and friends who came along to support and enjoy our students’ performances. Your enthusiasm, encouragement, and presence in the audience mean so much to the students, boosting their confidence and making their achievements even more special. Thank you for investing your time and energy to celebrate their talents and for being an integral part of our school community.
Together, this incredible partnership between staff, students, and families creates a vibrant and nurturing environment where creativity and personal growth flourish. We look forward to building on this success and continuing to offer enriching performing arts opportunities for our students in the future.

Year 7 Sushi Week
To wrap up our Year 7 Japanese Food unit, students enjoyed a fun and hands-on Sushi Week!
Students revisited the ingredients and vocabulary they had learnt throughout the unit before getting to make their very own sushi rolls. Everyone had the opportunity to roll their own sushi, and after all their hard work, students said 「いただきます!」(itadakimasu) before enjoying their creations together.
It was a great opportunity for students to connect their Japanese language learning with Japanese food culture and experience the process of preparing and enjoying sushi for themselves.
To finish the activity, students also had the chance to try their hand at kendama, a traditional Japanese skill toy and game. There was plenty of laughter and friendly competition as students attempted to master different tricks!
Sushi Week was a fantastic way to bring our Food unit to a close, combining Japanese language, food, culture and a little bit of fun. It was wonderful to see our Year 7 students getting involved, trying something new and enjoying their final activity for the unit.
