Newlands Brand Update

This edition of the newsletter may look a little different, and that’s because it marks an exciting milestone for our school. After months of collaboration, feedback and thoughtful design, our Newlands branding update is now complete. We are excited to finally share our refreshed logo and values with our community.

Over the past few months, we have worked with the incredible team at Seesaw Studios to develop an updated look and feel that reflects the vibrant, unique and community focused school that Newlands is. Thank you to the many families who responded to the community survey. One message came through loud and clear: Newlands is a strong and spirited community, with families, staff and students who care deeply about our school.

Student voice also played an important role in shaping the brand update. Our Student Representative Council shared the many things they value and love about Newlands, helping ensure that the refreshed brand truly reflects our school.

The tree remains a central symbol in our logo. It is now framed by an ‘N’ for Newlands and includes the words Escuela Primaria to celebrate the Spanish language and acknowledge our bilingual program.

Our values define what matters most in our school community. They guide how we learn, work together and make decisions. Our four core values Care, Curiosity, Creativity and Responsibility were strongly reflected in both the survey and SRC discussions. Two additional themes also emerged: Community and Growth. At Newlands, we celebrate our diversity and strive to create a strong sense of belonging for every student, while continually growing and improving together.

Please meet our Values Brains below, who have been cleverly created by one of our wonderful parents, Trevor Hutchinson. 

We have also refreshed our Instructional Model to reflect best practice in teaching and learning.

Several exciting projects are currently underway at Newlands, including the development of a new school website, improved signage and directions across the school, and a uniform update. Stay tuned!
