BBI Club Basketball Final Round Approaches

As the BBI Club Basketball summer season approaches its decisive final round, the Senior School boys’ teams are preparing for an exciting finish to the competition.

The U18 team has delivered a consistent and commanding season and has now secured the number one ranking on the ladder, sitting level on 31 points alongside Falcons. Their strong performances throughout the competition have placed them in an excellent position heading into the final’s series.

In the U16 division, both Clayfield teams have continued to compete strongly. Clayfield Green currently sits in 12th place, while Clayfield Blue holds 6th position, reflecting the depth and development of the program across the age groups.

Across the season, the teams have demonstrated determination, growth and strong teamwork on the court. As the 2025 to 2026 Summer season competition reaches its final stages, we look forward to seeing our players continue to represent Clayfield with energy and pride for the upcoming Winter season.

Growth and Energy Drive QGSSSA Touch Football Program

Clayfield College’s QGSSSA Touch Football program is enjoying an exciting period of growth, with student interest and participation reaching new levels this season.

What began as a single team has now expanded to five teams, reflecting the strong enthusiasm for the sport and the welcoming, inclusive environment that has developed around the program. While the season is still in its early stages, the growth itself has been a highlight, with students embracing the opportunity to learn, compete and enjoy the game together.

The program is led by coaches from High Performance Sport, with outstanding support and leadership from senior students and Touch Leaders, Sally Sproat and Sherry Yang, whose encouragement and example have played an important role in building team culture and enjoyment across the squads.

Following the first round of fixtures which included a mix of friendly matches and competition games the Opens and 7A teams both began their seasons strongly, recording opening-round wins.

As Autumn Fixtures progress, the focus remains on building skills, confidence and enjoyment of the game. The rapid growth of the program is a positive sign for the future of Touch Football at Clayfield College.

The result highlights not only the depth within the team, but also the team’s unity, and commitment to racing for one another. Competing against larger programs, our Andrews Cup swimmers once again demonstrated their ability to punch above their weight, with swimmers delivering determined performances across both individual and relay events throughout the competition.
