Out and About

Year 12 Formal
The newly renamed Tea Tree Hotel (formerly Sferas) provided a stunning backdrop for the 2026 Senior Formal, held under the elegant theme “Starry Night.”
A fleet of impressive vehicles—including stretch limousines, Hummers, Porsches, and Mustangs—delivered students from the Class of 2026, all dressed in their finest and looking truly spectacular as they made their grand arrivals. The opening hour gave parents the opportunity to witness these special moments before joining students and staff for drinks and canapés. Two professional photography stations were also available, ensuring that lasting memories of the evening were beautifully captured.
At 7pm, the Year 12 cohort moved into the Marquee Ballroom, where they enjoyed a delicious three-course meal alongside speeches and the presentation of student awards. The formalities gave way to a lively celebration, with DJ Ben keeping the dance floor buzzing all night with a playlist thoughtfully curated by the Class of 2026.
The evening marked a truly memorable milestone in the Year 12 journey—one that will be cherished for years to come. The Formal Committee deserves special recognition for their dedication and tireless efforts throughout the term in bringing this exceptional event to life.

Music Fringe Shows
Several Year 11 and 12 Music students recently attended two Fringe shows, a Jamiroquai tribute band show and ‘Jackson Vs Jackson’, a tribute to Michael and Janet Jackson.
The Jamiroquai show was held at The Arkaba and featured an exceptional 12-piece band, who performed a set list of Jamiroquai’s greatest hits for a solid two hours.
The dance floor was full for the duration of the show and many of the students (and myself!) danced and sang the night away.
Jackson vs Jackson was held at Gluttony and featured the Gospo Collective -a mass choir, backing band and dancers plus a select group of 10 talented front-line vocalists, who put on an amazing high energy show full of unique vocal harmonies and mash-ups.
The students were blown away by the creativity of the arrangements and the polish and stage presence of the performers.
We all sat captivated for the entire hour, and couldn’t help but sing along to all the big Jackson hits.
It is so rewarding to see music performed live, and I encourage all Music students to make the most of future opportunities!

Ministry to GGLPS
Today Charlotte Dahlenburg and Vi Huynh spoke at Golden Grove Lutheran Primary School on how we don’t always see the big picture. Hard times might come, and life may take its twists and turns, but God always knows his plans and has good things for us.
With a fun game of Sink or Swim, we were able to serve GGLPS students with an amazing message from God, who is always working good in our lives.

Athletics Carnival
The 2026 Athletics Carnival was a thrilling celebration of Village spirit, leaving behind unforgettable memories.
With a bit of cloud cover in the morning and the sun poking out later in the day the Athletics Carnival provided an ideal setting for our athletes to shine. Students gave their best performances and truly showcased their talent. Students embraced the day with enthusiasm, filling the day with infectious positivity and energy that made it truly exceptional.
The highlight of the event was, without a doubt, the famous Spoke Relay, followed by an exciting series of year-level relays, the crowd just centimetres off the track, screams and cheers echoed the stadium as last relay runners sprinted to the finish line.
The carnival’s excitement peaked with the All-Star Race 100m sprint', bringing together the fastest 8 male and fastest 8 female athletes for a thrilling 100m sprint. It was particularly exciting to see some younger year level students going head-to-head with Year 12 students!
A huge congratulations to Liam Edmondson for winning the Male 100m All-Star race and Maya Szczepaniak for winning the Female 100m All-Star race
A huge congratulations to Kavel for securing the win by earning the most points and claiming the overall prize for the day.
