Dear Parents, Caregivers, Students and Friends of Endeavour,

Harmony Day 2026 at Endeavour College has been a vibrant and meaningful celebration of the rich cultural diversity that defines our school community. This year’s theme, “Everyone Belongs,” strongly resonated across the College, reflecting not only the message of the day but the lived experience of our students and staff.

With a growing student population and strong enrolment demand, Endeavour continues to flourish as a place where every individual is welcomed, valued and supported. Our community is shaped by a wide range of cultural backgrounds, with many different languages spoken at home. This diversity brings a richness to everyday learning, creating opportunities for students to share their stories, learn from one another and develop a deeper understanding of the world.

Faith diversity is also an important part of life at Endeavour. Students represent a broad spectrum of beliefs and traditions.

Harmony Day provided an opportunity to acknowledge and respect these differences, while focusing on the shared values that unite us—kindness, inclusion and mutual respect.

To mark the occasion, students and staff were encouraged to wear cultural dress or orange, symbolising unity and harmony. Across classrooms and Care Groups, meaningful conversations took place around identity, belonging and what it means to be part of a community where everyone feels seen and valued.

For me personally, the message of Harmony Day is deeply significant. I was born in Northern Ireland and came to Australia with my family to escape the Troubles in Belfast. We later returned there for a time before eventually settling back in Australia. I still spend many Christmas holidays in Belfast, and in my early twenties, I lived in England for a year. My life has been shaped by different places, cultures and experiences, including times of conflict and division—and it has given me a deep appreciation for the importance of understanding, respect and belonging.

What I see in our Endeavour community reflects this journey. Our students come from diverse backgrounds, with different stories, beliefs and experiences, yet come together in a shared environment of learning and care. Harmony Day reminds us that our differences are not barriers, but strengths and that when we embrace them, we create a community where everyone truly belongs.

As we look ahead, Endeavour College remains committed to fostering a culture of inclusion, ensuring that every student feels a strong sense of belonging and pride in who they are.

As always, I am grateful to be leading this wonderful community and thank you for your continued support.
