Out and About
Seasons of Excellence Tour
Words by Emma Edwards
On Monday the 15th of April, Year 11 and 12 students from VCE, Media, Art Creative Practice, Visual Communication and Product Design Technology classes, arrived at school by 5 am to head to Melbourne for the day. This trip was for us to attend the Seasons of Excellence exhibition. The display looked at the Top Arts, Top Designs and Top Screens from 2023. It was inspirational to look at the work from last year's Year 12 students who applied and were accepted into the exhibition. Looking at their folios and work helped us by showing how we can improve our own work and extend our learning.
As a Year 12 Media student focusing on photography, I was able to look at the other work from students who completed photography for their final piece. This enabled me to understand just how much work they completed, and how much preparation they did. Looking at their folios also helped me decide how I want to complete my own personal folio this year.
When we finished at the exhibition, we were able to walk around the city, which not all of us get to do a lot of. I enjoyed taking some photos of the buildings, people, traffic and experiencing the general buzz of Melbourne. We had an early dinner and caught the train back to Wodonga by 10pm.
I highly recommend next year's students to attend the Seasons of Excellence excursion. It was a great day! Below are a few photos I took of the city.
