Physics

Mr Armstrong's Year 11 Physics students investigating Newtons Laws of Motion. Sir Isaac Newton’s laws of motion explain the relationship between a physical object and the forces acting upon it. Understanding this information provides us with the basis of modern physics.

Visual Design

Mr Caisley's Year 11 Design students have created jewellery using a combination of rocks & resin in Term 1. Great work students, very creative.

Agriculture

Congratulations to our students who attended the Northern Schools Prime Lamb Competition on 11 April. THS placed 1st & 2nd in the led lamb. Over 2 days students undertook workshops on visual assessment, junior judging, meat quality testing & fleece assessments. (results Hook)

Visual Art

Mr Caisley's Year 9/10 Abstract unit. Students created some fantastic landscape pieces.

Year 11 Student, Ali Hopkins is a talented artist who is making her mark in the art world. Ali recently sold some beautiful pieces through her "Barefoot Business" - Ali Hopkins Artwork. Ali has also entered her "Kookaburra" work into the UNE art competition.

Photography

Mr Caisley's Year 9/10 Photography students work during Term 1. Students have worked with photo manipulation using the Droste & Harris effects. Another technique used included forced perspective, a technique that employs optical illusion to make an object appear farther away, closer, larger or smaller than it actually is. A wonderful collection of creative work!

English

Mr Ryan & Mr Woodrow' Year 7 students with their English assessments. Students created a visual representation of their research on famous African-American women who worked for NASA and were pivotal in getting USA into space. How great are these assessments, well done everyone!

Resilience

Year 7 Resilience class learning about the importance of gratitude.

High Performance & Potential Program

With the High Performance and Potential program in full swing, students are undertaking many kinds of research and practical tasks. Students have chosen projects from computer aided design, developing photography skills, microbiology and forensic science to name a few.
