What has been happening in 3/4C!

We have had a busy start to Term 2 in 3/4C! We are fully into the swing of things, working hard together and learning lots of new things. Here are some of the things we have been up to so far this term.

St John's First Aid Incursion

St John's Ambulance came to visit the 3/4s to run a first aid session. During the session with Sam we learnt about the importance of First Aid and what to do in an event of an emergency. It was a very informative session and we all learnt a lot. We know that we can all help someone in need.

"We got to learn how to help someone if they are unconscious." - Penny

"We learnt about DRS ABCD which is what we follow to help someone." - Isla

"We were taught how to clear someone’s airways so they can breathe." - Liam

John Hannah Hostel Visit

This week we got to meet up with the residents of the John Hannah Hostel to do an activity. We listened to the story of Anzac Ted and then listened to Bob, one of the residents, share some stories and show us some letters and photos from family members that fought at war. Then we created our own Anzac Ted. We enjoyed our time together with the residents and it was great to see their smiling faces.

Maths - Length, Area and Perimeter

Our maths unit at the moment is length, area and perimeter. We are learning how to measure length, area and perimeter and how to use different tools to measure. We have been doing a lot of practising using rulers, tape measures and trundle wheels to measure different items. One of our favourite activities so far was going outside and measuring how far we could jump. We estimated our jumps first and then worked in partners to measure them. We love doing hands on activities to help us learn!
