P&F News

P&F Committee:

All are welcome to join our school P&F Committee. It’s been great to have some new members join!

If you would like to be involved but are unable to attend the monthly meetings due to work or other commitments, please feel free to e mail me and I will add you to the group.

Next P&F Meeting:

Wednesday 15th May at 9:15am.

Please meet at the school office. All welcome!

Toast:

Toast is available each morning for all students who would like some extra fuel before they begin the school day!

Thank you to our wonderful volunteers who prepare and serve the toast each morning! If you would like to join the roster please let me know or you can pass your name onto Krystal in the office.

Anzac Day:

Our school captains will be representing St Mary’s next Thursday by laying a wreath at the cenotaph at the morning service. Thank you students!

St Mary’s Open Day-Tuesday 14th May:

From 9:30-11am staff and students will be welcoming new and prospective families into our school. We are inviting any parents who would like to come along for a cuppa and a chat with these families to join us in the library during this time.

Spread the word about our open day!

Annual Easter Raffle-School Fundraiser:

What a wonderful fundraiser this year!

Thank you to all those who donated items for the raffle and/or purchased raffle tickets!  Thank you also to the lovely group of mums who were able to help wrap and prepare all the prizes!  Your support ensured this was a success! We raised $700! Some of these funds will go towards covering the cost of our taco lunch day (along with the gold coins that students brought in on the special lunch day!) whilst the remainder, along with further funds we raise this year, will go towards other resources for our students-we have a few ideas…table tennis table for the school yard and a buddy seat to support our students wellbeing.

Congratulations to all the winners!

How eggciting to be a winner!

Annual St Vinnies Easter Appeal:

Thank you so much to everyone who was able to donate items and contribute to this appeal. The donations were collected by St Vinnies and distributed to those in need within our community.

Recycling:

At St Mary’s this year we are collecting any recyclable cans, bottles and containers marked with the 10cent refund.  These will be transported to Chewton Service Station.  All money raised will come back to our school to benefit our students whilst strengthening our sustainability practises to contribute to a healthier world. There is a new, blue wheelie bin located down stairs for these to be dropped off.

Student Special Lunch Day:

Term 1-Wednesday 27th March: Taco Day!

Thank you to all of our wonderful mums who helped cook, prepare and serve this delicious lunch! Thank you to The Blue Sea Fish Shop for donating the delicious, fresh chopped lettuce! The students really enjoyed their tacos for lunch on this day! They were such a hit, there were requests for another taco lunch day next year!

Stay tuned for our student special lunch day for this term-soup day: details out soon!

School Fair 2024:

Every second year St Mary’s school holds a fair!  This year’s fair will be held in Term 4 on Sunday 20th October.

This will be our major fundraiser for the year.

We have recently started up our fair committee and have had a couple of meetings already. Thank you to all those who have joined! If you would like to join, please email me or leave your name with Krystal at the school office.

Our next fair committee meeting will be held on Wednesday 15th May at 7pm at school. There will be a zoom link set up and released on the day for those who would like to join from home.

Stay tuned for information regarding stalls and a call out for coordinators, volunteers, donations, further stall ideas and support! Thank you in advance-as they say, many hands make light work and certainly make for a successful event, as many of us saw at our 2022 School Fair!

170 Year St Mary’s School & Parish Anniversary:

Sunday 11th August-Mass at 10:30am followed by a celebratory lunch in the St Mary’s Hall. All welcome! Save the date!

Have a great weekend!
