An enormous welcome to Term 2, a term which promises great learning and excitement at St Nicholas School.
It has been inspiring to witness our school community begin the term with a positive attitude and a commitment to realising our hope filled future.
My pride in St Nicholas' start to Term 2 can be reflected in the way our school commemorated ANZAC Day. ANZAC Day is a day of enormous significance for Australians. It is a day of enormous importance, where we are provided with the opportunity to stop and thank those who have given their lives to the freedom and lifestyle which we enjoy.
For those who managed to witness our children marching last week, I trust you were filled with the same pride I experienced. Our children’s engagement, respect and reverence reflected ANZAC Day. Our students were not ‘celebrating’ ANZAC Day as they marched, rather ‘commemorating’ this momentous day in our calendar.
Next week on Tuesday and Wednesday our school is looking forward to hosting staff from across our diocese for two professional development days. On Tuesday we will welcome Early Career Teachers who will focus on the accreditation process and on Wednesday we welcome administration staff who will undertake further learnings around Compass.
I would like to take this opportunity to invite all our mothers, grandmothers etc to join us for breakfast next Friday 10th May from 7.30am to celebrate Mother's Day. This is just a small way we wish to acknowledge the wonderfully supportive and loving women in our lives. There will also be a Mother's Day Mass held at 9:30am in the Undercroft for those able to join us.
