Religious News

This week is Catholic Education Week, and this year it is particularly special, as we mark 150 years of Catholic Education in our Diocese. We have spent the week celebrating with lots of different activities.

On Monday our theme was REMEMBER. We all had the opportunity to learn about the history of our school and Parish though a slideshow of historical photographs. It was amazing to see pictures of our old buildings and hear stories about the construction of our current school site.

On Tuesday our theme was COMMUNITY we sat together to eat our lunch and shared stories about our favourite things around our school. Every person in our school also decorated a wooden cross. These crosses are currently displayed in our school foyer in the shape of a big 150, to represent the 150th anniversary of Catholic Education in the Ballarat Diocese.

Our theme for Wednesday was REVITALISE. We decided to mix things up with a Mystery Teacher afternoon. Our classes swapped teachers across the whole school and we had a fantastic time getting to know new people.

On Thursday our theme was HOPE and all our staff and students wrote about their hopes and dreams for our school over the next 10 years. The responses were gathered with some meaningful objects and symbols, and stored in a time capsule that will be opened in 10 years.

Today our theme was CELEBRATE and we gathered with the students and staff for a shared Catholic Education Week liturgy and sausage sizzle. It is an exciting time to be involved in Catholic Education in our Parish and we hope everyone enjoyed celebrating this week.

God Bless,
