SLAM POET - N'FA JONES

We were lucky enough to welcome Australian Hip-Hop artist, musician, lyrist, lecturer, filmmaker, private coach, and nationally ranked hurdler N’fa Jones to visit our school last Tuesday 16th of April. N’fa ran a Slam Poetry workshop with our Year 9 students. He brought a wealth of experience and knowledge in the area of music and poetry and was able to provide the first step for the students to create their slam poems as part of their English subject. Not only did he inspire the students to create their poems, but he also performed and shared his experiences that have led to where he is today. 

The students worked in groups to create a brainstorm of words that relate to their feelings, thoughts, and lives. The next step will be creating these poems and then performing them in their classes.
