Black Ranges Netball

On Monday, we had four teams across Year 7-10 compete in the Black Ranges netball competition at Central Park.

Year 7 – Congratulations to those students who played extremely well for their first experience at this level. Their first game was against our Year 8 team, followed by Warracknabeal, HTLC, Hopetoun and Stawell. All students had fun throughout the day.

Year 8 – Our Year 8 students only had one loss for the day, going down to a very strong Warracknabeal team who were overall winners of the competition.

Year 9 – Well done to Rory Hudson for stepping up and taking on the position of centre in this team. The Intermediate competition was very strong and our team only lost two of their six matches for the day, going down to our Year 10 team and Warracknabeal.

Year 10 – Well done to Year 9 student, Jett Martin, for stepping up and playing with the Year 10 team. This team lost only one game to Warracknabeal, who were the overall winners of the Intermediate competition.

Thank you to Year 9 students, Hannah Plazzer, Iris Sudholz and Tayla Hudson who umpired during the day. Thank you to parent volunteer, Mrs Plazzer, for scoring for the Year 7 students and to St Brigid's staff Margie, Ms Bav and Mr Walker for assisting.

Greater Western Volleyball

Last week, our Intermediate Boys played two games of volleyball at the Greater Western Region tournament, competing for a place at the State Finals. We had a wonderful first game, winning both sets against King's College. We won the first set 20-8 and the second 20-16. Our second and final game of the day was hotly contested against Ballarat High School, who came out with the victory 20-16 in the first set and 20-15 in the second. Congratulations to all the students who particpated.
