WELLBEING Supports
WELLBEING SUPPORTS | Frankston High School believes that students can only reach their full educational potential when they are happy, healthy, and safe, and when there is a positive School culture to engage and support them in their learning.  Our school acknowledges that student wellbeing and student learning outcomes are inextricably linked.  Year Level Leaders can refer students to the Wellbeing Team for support with parental/carer consent. Please contact the Year Level Leaders or the Wellbeing Team if you have any questions or would like your child referred.Â
R U OK Day
R U OK? was born from lived experience. It has become a cultural movement engaging all walks of life and reflects the insights and lived experience of many.
Â
It is up to all of us to look out for those we care about and start a conversation that could change a life. Suicide prevention requires the efforts of us all, not just professionals and experts.
Itâs been shown that those living in higher density areas, are more susceptible to loneliness than those living in lower-density areas.
Â
Loneliness:Â Â It needs our urgent attention because when you feel connected, you enjoy greater mental wellbeing, and everything feels better.
Loneliness: is a growing global problem. It affects one in four adult Australians at least three days a week.  It can affect anyone of any age.  One in two individuals are lonely at least one day a week, 10% feel they lack social support and 25% are experiencing high levels of social anxiety.
Â
When Paul McCartney asks the question âAll the lonely people, where do they all come from?â in the Beatles song âEleanor Rigby,â he may not have had R U OK Day on his mind, but nonetheless he touched a nerve.Â
Â
This R U OK? Day letâs put people first and choose to spend our time really connecting with those we care about and those we meet over the course of our day. Itâs not hard and takes no time at all, but those 15 or 20 seconds of warm and authentic interaction can lift the other personâs spirits as well as yours.Â
Â
It might even save a life.
