Flynn Farewells their Year 12s

Flynn farewelled their Year 12s on Monday morning. It was an in-house occasion where fellow students got to share memories and well wishes with them all, and they played "guess the baby photo" and sent them off through a Guard of Honour.

Mrs Fleming also gave the following speech to accompany the homemade cupcakes each of them received...

"These cupcakes represent you - green to the core (of course!), and nestled inside the enveloping embrace of the cupcake patty (that’s all of us in the Flynn family who surround and support you). We hold you now and always!

And inside your cupcake you have the flour - the substance that makes up the seemingly endless days of your childhood and schooling, bound together by the eggs, milk and butter, which are your values, interests and experiences, and what makes you who you are. And finally, we have the icing which is the sweetness you bring to all those who know you, and of course the little bit of sprinkle on top which is your unique and individual personalities.

Let’s face it, everybody loves a cupcake, right? And we all want to be the one who gets the last cupcake on the plate! But alas, it is time for YOU all to have the last cake, and eat it too!!

Best of luck and warmest wishes to you all, and remember, you are always part of our Flynn family and are welcome back anytime!"
