Assistant Principal

Year 11 & 12

With one week of school remaining, I would like to offer my congratulations to our wonderful year 12 VCE / VCAL students who have almost completed their final year of secondary school. During this coming week students will be participating in several final assemblies and eagerly awaiting their Celebrations Day on Friday.  Last Thursday they attended a Party Safe presentation facilitated by the Victorian police to provide some timely community information about keeping safe whilst socializing in the community.

On Monday the VCE cohort, sat their three-hour indicative English Exam. These practice exams enable students to gauge their preparation for the upcoming final VCE exams and gain that vital feedback from their teachers as to where they may be able to find opportunities to improve responses or highlight areas that require additional focus in their preparation. They also provide students with the practice to manage their time during exams to ensure that they are able to complete set questions without the stress of unforeseen time pressures.

We send all of our year VCE students, our very best wishes for success in their approaching exams, as they embark on their SWOTVAC period of preparation. The first VCAA exam starts on Wednesday 18th October with Languages. The English exam follows on Tuesday October 23rd. After the VCE examination period which concludes on the 14th November, year 12 students have been invited to the Year 12 Formal, held at ‘The Mannor on High ’In order to avoid disappointment, please  remember the payments are due to the general office by 10th November.

We are very much looking forward to celebrating the achievements of our year 12 students at this year’s Graduation Ceremony to be held at Emerald Receptions on December the 18th.  If you haven’t yet purchased your tickets, you can do so, via payment of $70 at the general office by the 2nd December. We would love to see all of our graduating students and their families at this event.

Next Thursday, the year 11 and 12 students will be attending the Leadership Assembly to hear from the candidates for the year 12 captains for 2024.  Many thanks to Kate Brittingham for her logistical planning of the event. Congratulations to all students who nominated themselves for these esteemed leadership positions. We are very proud of you for taking the courage to apply. The best of luck to each of you.

Congratulations to the recipients of the following Outstanding Attitudes towards Learning awards, presented to the year 11 students this week. It is truly delightful to see so many of students being recognized by their teachers for demonstrating essential characteristics and traits of being active participants in their learning.
