Basketball Grand Finals

On Thursday 23rd November, the Tamworth Sports Dome hosted the Tamworth Basketball Grand Finals for the Summer Competition. The stadium was a buzz of excitement and St Joseph's was represented by two teams on the night. What a great achievement!

Our 3/4 Boys Panthers team took to the court full of energy against Carinya. The game ebbed and flowed early, before Crainya took a 6-point lead going into halftime. A quick talk from coach Mark Faint had the boys buzzing as they came back out determined to win. The pace of the game picked up as both teams went goal for goal. Great teamwork in both defence and attack allowed the boys to hit the front with a minute to go and they would never let go of it. Congratulations on such a fantastic season!

In our other final the 5/6 Scorpions bounced onto the court ready to take on a very good Westdale team. Westdale started the game quickly by scoring the first 8 points. The Scorpions showed their never-give-up attitude and slowly crawled back into the game. Unfortunately, our boys couldn't get the lead and went down in a high-quality contest. The team was gracious in defeat and this was evident by Harry's comment at the end saying, "Mr Paterson we came 2nd, how good!". Well done on a great season Scorpions.

We are very proud of the way the teams have represented St Joseph's and their outstanding achievements in the competition. A huge thank you to Mr Neil Wood, Mr Ricky Craig, Mr Darren Spinks, Mr Mark Faint and Mr Matt Marshall for coaching their respective teams this season.

Twilight Netball

Our Twilight Netball Team have continued to impress playing extremely well and winning several games over the past few Thursdays. The team always displayed good sportsmanship while having a smile on their faces. Well done!
