Music

Kii and noongodjin from the Music Room!

In Classroom Music we have packed up our instruments from the Arts Festival and have been having fun with different ways to activate beat, rhythm, form and pitch.

Students have had fun exploring the sounds and possibilities of the Indonesian instrument angklung. Thank you so much to our parent Jeremy Dullard for lending us his instruments!

Foundation - Year 2 students have also used ribbons to copy a pattern to The Nutcracker Suite and then create their own ribbon dance. Students came up with creative ways of presenting their dance!

Year 3/4 students have had fun using Boomwhakers to play along to videos. As their colour comes down the screen and hits the boomwhacker at the bottom, they play their note. It’s a lot of fun!

Year 5/6 students have had an introduction to Bandlab Education - a music technology program that allows students to create their own pieces with loops and a keyboard. Emails have been sent to parents/carers of 5/6 students with details of how to access this at home.

TPS Choir

The TPS choir students have been rolling in every Wednesday Lunchtime for a sing and a giggle this year. We have been singing Christmas songs in the last couple of weeks including one of my favourites - Carol of the Birds. TPS choir you have been amazing!

Spicy Semitones

The Spicy Semitones worked hard this year with a lot of changes and have come up with some great performances! Following the Arts Festival, Year 6 students have been practising a song to play at Graduation. We are saying goodbye to some excellent musicians in our Year 6 cohort who have given us a lot of musical joy. Best wishes for your musical journey!

T.I.M.E

Following another great instrumental year, check out the T.I.M.E sign up form for 2024!

Finally, a big thank you to everyone for supporting the music program at TPS and to all the students who learned so much this year!

Happy Holidays!
