Prep to Year 2 Junior House Sports
All students in Prep, Year 1 and Year 2 were involved in six events on Thursday morning, 30 November, in the gymnasium. They trained for these activities in P.E. lessons, so they were confident when participating on the day. Activities included hurdles, baton, tunnel ball and soccer relays plus a throwing activity and sprint races.
Thank you to the Year 6 House Captains who did an amazing job running the events and helping the teachers with scoring. Also, thanks to the staff for their support during the sports event.
It was lovely to see so many families spectating and cheering on the children.
The children had lots of fun and some of their comments are below.
Thanks,
Monique Hocking & Cassie Kemp

Basketball Trip - USA
Hello. My name is Zac and I have been selected to go to the US for basketball with this program called AUBD. AUBD stands for Australian Basketball Development. Every Tuesday and Thursday, I wake up at 5.30am for basketball at 6.30am to 7.30am. I was one of the best 11 years old at this program. I would like to thank my parents and coach for this opportunity.
Congratulations Zac for training so hard to achieve your sporting goal. We wish you all the best for your trip to USA and your future basketball pursuits. What an amazing experience and awesome effort!
Waverley Rotary Sports Award
It is with great pleasure that I announce Nathan G received the Waverley Rotary Sports Award. On 27 November, Nathan and his family attended the presentation at Ashwood Hall. Below are some photos with the medal he received. Congratulations Nathan for being a worthy recipient of this award, you should be very proud of your 2023 sports achievements.
Nathan's Achievements
Nathan has confidently represented Nolan House as Sports Captain this year and has diligently taken on the associated responsibilities. He displays talent in different sports such as football, basketball and volleyball. A highlight was his school nomination to participate in the 12U Victorian AFL team trials because of his outstanding achievements in community and school AFL teams. Nathan also represented the Mulgrave District at Monash Waverley Division events for cross country and athletics, where he competed in high jump. He was an ideal role model for younger students and his teammates, providing encouragement, showing great persistence and resilience, both on and off the playing field.
