Maths 

Hopefully your children have been talking to you about money and how to work out the % discount. If they haven't, ask them what they know.

This week has been a week of finding percentages and calculating the new price. Does JB give good deals or are the discounts always 21%?

To add to this students have been playing a real life Monopoly type game. They get paid for each day they come to school. The grade 6's in 56E are entitled to use their long service leave (unfortunately the grade 5's have not worked long enough to accrue any leave). Students have to pay rent for their table space. 

Students may receive bonuses if they land on a Chance or Community Chest place but it also may cost them. The students had great fun creating what rewards or penalties they may receive. A random spinner decides for the lucky or unlucky student.

Hard working students may receive extra rolls of the dice or extra pay. Watch out though if you forget to put capital letters in your writing or if you are talking too much as you may receive a fine. These fines go to the free parking place and then everyone hopes they land there. Next week students are hoping that they might be able to buy some of the land and charge rent to anyone who lands on their block !!
