Last night's ACPS Christmas Carols were nothing short of wonderful, capturing the true essence of our incredible community. The air was filled with festive cheer and I am so thankful to all of the families, students, and staff that attended to make the night the success it was. The collective voices of our students singing Christmas carols, the picnic blankets filled with families and the smiles and laughter of our children playing together truly showcased the strong sense of unity at ACPS. A huge thank you to Sarah Bailey, our wonderful Performing Arts Teacher for the mountain of work she has invested to organise the evening and prepare our students for their performances. Cameron Mitchell, one of our many dedicated parents, was also instrumental in his support by supplying, setting up and running the entire sound and audio for the evening. Cameron spent much of his day setting up prior to the evening and the quality of sound he was able to produce for the night went a long way to making it such a success. Thank you also to our parents helping with raffles, fundraising activities and bake sale items.
The event left me feeling proud to be part of such a vibrant and close-knit community, and it served as the perfect way to culminate a great year at ACPS.
I attended the Hoop Time State Finals on Monday to watch our 3/4 Girls team compete in what was an absolutely thrilling competition. The level of basketball displayed by all the Primary School teams was truly impressive, showcasing the incredible talent present across the State. Our girls more than mixed it with the best of them and stood out with their exceptional skills, determination and teamwork, finishing a commendable 9th in the State. I couldn't be prouder of their performance, achievement and sportsmanship throughout the competition. Well done girls!
We will be holding a Special Assembly on Friday 15th December 2:30 - 3:30pm in the Performing Arts Theatre. This assembly will be used as an opportunity to present our Formal Annual Awards such as:
- Des McKenzie Award
- Natasha Rankin Award
- Menzies Shield
- Principal's Award
- Grade 6 Subject Awards - English, Reading, Writing, Art, PE, Performing Arts and STEAM.
We are also excited to see our first performance by some of the Shrek the Musical Jnr cast.
We would like to invite all families that are in a position to attend and look forward to seeing you there.
We have finalised most of our staffing for 2024 and are now in a position to share that with you. We have still been affected by the statewide staff shortages of language teachers and unfortunately will not be running a dedicated specialist language program in 2024. However, we are exploring opportunities to incorporate language learning into the general classroom program.

A big thank you to everyone who supported the CareNet Reverse Christmas Hamper initiative. We were overwhelmed with the demand for hamper boxes from families wanting to give back and support others. Your generosity will make a meaningful impact on those in need during the holiday season.
Have a lovely weekend.
