Principal's Message

Dear parents, students and families,

Michele has been finalising  our Market Day invoices and income and I am all sure you will be thrilled that we believe the final amount raised has been just over $9300. My sincere thanks to our parents, students, staff and extended community for their support of the market and the work involved in planning, setting up, staffing stalls, overseeing and packing up. I am well aware that it was not a one day event and am truly grateful for what was achieved. The new artificial turf at the front of the school has now been fully funded through the Trivia night and market. Well done to all and thanks.

A reminder that our Parish of St Anne's has a market day this Sunday 3rd December between 9.30am and 1pm. You may like to attend or support the event in some way.  We are supporting the St Vincent de Paul Christmas Hamper appeal for our local Seaford families with our Lapathon. This unfortunately had to be postponed due to the weather yesterday and it will be rescheduled.

On Monday our Year 5 students made their Leadership speeches for 2024. They should all be very proud as it is such a challenging thing to do in front of an audience. From what we heard they had really thought about the roles they were applying for, and although they will not all get what they want, that doesn't mean they won't be a great group of leaders for their peers.

Today we held our second Advent liturgy. They are a beautiful and moving way of sharing how we are  becoming prepared for the true Christmas celebration.

I was informed recently that three of our students competed in the Victorian Karate Championships. Congratulations to Austin, Jasper and Ocean. Ocean received the silver medal for his grade.

We have now held three Orientation sessions for the 2024 Foundation students and it is great to see the children becoming more excited and familiar with 'their' school. We will see our incoming students again on Tuesday 5th December. Before that they will have the opportunity to gather as families on Friday 1st December for our annual Teddy Bears' Picnic between 2-3pm.

Next Monday we have our Literacy Showcase in the morning which is an opportunity to celebrate with parenys that can make some of the learning your children have made in this area of the curriculum. I know Mr Sullivan has used Seesaw to share the details of this event.

Next Wednesday we hold our annual Christmas Concert involving the nativity play and singing of traditional carols and other Christmas songs. With a bit of luck it will be a beautiful night in which you all can join us with your singing voices and deck chairs!

God bless and have a great weekend.
