I would like to take this opportunity to wish all our Sacred Heart families, a relaxing and safe holiday break; I hope the Christmas festivities give you the chance to spend some quality time with your loved ones.

I would like to congratulate our Sacred Heart community, on the manner in which you have embraced our 2023 school year. For the enthusiasm and diligence of our beautiful students, the trust and informed cooperation of our parents, and the passion of our staff, thank you.

The end of each school year is tinged with mixed emotions, excitement about the holidays and a new school year with all its promises, is intertwined with farewelling students, families and staff, who are embarking on the next stage of their life journey. To our Year Six students, thank you for the way you have embraced life at Sacred Heart School. Thank you for your contributions to our school during your time here. Thank you for the leadership you have displayed this year, and the great role models you have been to our younger students. I would like to wish you every happiness, well being and success, as you enter the next very exciting stage of your life journey.

On behalf of our Sacred Heart School family, I would like to wish every member of our graduating class every success and happiness as they embark on the next exciting stage of their life journey.

I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the following families who have their last child departing our school this year. Thank you for the trust you have placed in our school, support and willingness to work with us. We also wish you every success and happiness for the future.

As mentioned in a previous school newsletter, staff members Jess and Giulia will be leaving Sacred Heart at the end of 2023. Again I would like to acknowledge their great contributions to our school and the legacy they will leave. On your behalf, I would like to wish Jess and Giulia every success and happiness as they pursue new positions in their educational journeys.

We welcome new staff members Antoinette Stasi in the Deputy Principal role (Antoinette has been introduced in previous newsletters) and Terri Marks. Terri will be familiar to some  of you as she completed a number of days emergency teaching at Sacred Heart in the first semester.

We also welcome Rosetta Rametta who has joined us from St Stephens PS. Rosetta will be our librarian allowing our students to again have a library lesson each week. Finally we welcome back Lauren Parmenter who will work part time across two classes in 2024.

School Leadership

Yesterday our Year Six students for 2024, listened to the candidates who are running for the school captaincy positions for next year. I would like to congratulate each of the candidates for putting themselves through the challenging process to be elected. Each candidate presented an excellent speech outlining their strengths, love of their school and aspirations to make Sacred Heart an even better school.
