Hands-On Learning – Term 2 Update

This term in Hands-On Learning, we've continued building on our focus plans with a strong emphasis on personal development and teamwork. Some of the key areas we've been working on include:

  • Asking others for their opinions
  • Identifying when comments are best left unsaid
  • Regulating our behaviour in challenging situations
  • Being sincere and thoughtful in what we say
  • Staying focused and engaged through to the completion of a task

We’ve had a productive and exciting few weeks with several projects underway to improve our school environment. We painted the shipping container to brighten up our school grounds, set up our veggie gardens, and laid pavers to complete the flooring for our new garden shed.

A big focus this term has also been on building strong relationships and learning to work as a cohesive team. Each week, we cook and share a meal together, which has become a highlight for everyone. So far, we’ve enjoyed nachos, baked red velvet cupcakes, made toasted sandwiches, and even homemade pizzas.

We’re proud of the progress our group is making—both in practical skills and personal growth—and we look forward to continuing this momentum into the rest of the year.
