Principal's News

Journeying Together in Christ

Our Year 6 student leaders have jumped straight into action by leading two assemblies. I look forward to working with them and developing the skills and qualities they already possess.

It's always a joy to be at school, but even more so the last few weeks with events such as, St Patrick's Day, Harmony Day, Cross Country, Bunnings BBQ (Sunday) and I know Barefoot Bowls will be fun tonight. We all play a role in creating happy experiences. At the same time, we are all learning. THANKYOU!

Around the classrooms during literacy

Generally, in Foundation to Year 6, students demonstrated remarkable efforts in literacy, laying a strong foundation for their future learning. They diligently developed essential skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening. By engaging with a variety of texts, they enhanced their comprehension and critical thinking abilities. Their dedication to literacy was evident through their active participation in class discussions, creative writing, and consistent practice. These efforts not only improved their literacy skills but fostered a love for reading and learning, setting the stage for continued academic success.

We thank the teachers for their unwavering dedication in guiding students from Foundation to Year 6. Their commitment to fostering a supportive and enriching learning environment played a crucial role in the students' academic and personal growth.

Drop off and pick-up- Carpark

Although we are fortunate to have our own car park, we still need to be very cautious and patient. The busy times are between 8:40am-8:55am and 3:20-3:35pm. Please model safe practice by using the pedestrian crossings.

Upcoming Events (see the calendar page and calendar on PAM)

We begin next week with a concert at 2:15pm on Monday (Kinect2Dance) in our stadium. You are invited to attend. Our Community Group meet on Tuesday at 7pm and all welcome. On Thursday at 2:15pm we have our Easter Raffle and on Friday our final assembly at 1:00pm.

Terrific Kid awards are slightly different. There are four awards each term, not one per class.

We will see the students back on Monday 28th April. Staff return on Tuesday 22nd April and will participate in a system wide three days of professional learning. The office will be closed on Tuesday 22nd as all staff are participating. I will communicate in the weekly message, times the office is open on Wednesday 23rd and Thursday 24th.

We will return in winter uniform. I will communicate any changes if the weather is warm.

This is our final newsletter for Term 1. I am away on leave from today for the final week of term. Jen McKillop will be Acting Principal, and Chris Summers will be available when Jen is unavailable. Please email the office@slshepparton.catholic.edu.au and the admin staff will forward your email to the relevant person.

We continue to prepare for Easter during the Season of Lent. Normally, we finish the school term around Easter, but this is not the case in 2025. When we return Easter will have passed. As a Catholic school we often hold Station of the Cross at school during Holy Week (week leading up to Easter). Unfortunately, we will not be at school for this week. The parish of St Brendan's is a special place over the Easter period.  Last year's Station of the Cross on Good Friday was amazing
