Student Representative Council (SRC)

On Monday 3 March, our Year 8 Student Representative Council (SRC) members and selected Middle School Leaders had the incredible opportunity to attend the National Young Leaders Day, an inspiring event that brought together young leaders from across the Victoria. The day was filled with motivational speeches from influential leaders, engaging discussions, and valuable lessons on leadership, resilience, and service to the community.
At the time, the event provided a platform for students to connect with like-minded peers and exchange ideas. Our SRC students returned to Oakleigh Grammar inspired and ready to make a difference.
Oakleigh Grammar students also had the privilege of attending the International Women’s Day event organized by the Hellenic Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HACCI) in Melbourne. This inspiring gathering celebrated the achievements of women across various fields, highlighting their contributions to business, community, and leadership. Students listened to distinguished speakers who shared their experiences, challenges, and successes, emphasising the importance of gender equality and empowerment.
As we approach the Easter season, Oakleigh Grammar is once again supporting the Greek Welfare Centre Easter Appeal. This initiative is dedicated to helping those in need by collecting non-perishable food items for families struggling during this time. We encourage all students, staff, and families to contribute by donating canned goods, pasta, rice, long-life milk, and other essential food items. Your generosity can make a real difference in the lives of those less fortunate, spreading kindness and compassion within our community.
Mark your calendars for our upcoming casual day on Tuesday 1 April, Hoodie Up Day, where students and staff are encouraged to wear hoodies to raise awareness and support for Autism. This special event not only allows us to stand in solidarity with individuals on the autism spectrum but also helps to promote inclusivity and understanding within our school community.
At Oakleigh Grammar, our students continue to demonstrate leadership, generosity, and community spirit. From attending the National Young Leaders Day to supporting important initiatives like the Easter Appeal and Hoodie Up Day, we are proud of the way our students embody the values of our school and strive to make a positive impact in the world.
