Continuous Reporting

We are in to our second year of Continuous Reporting at the Junior School.  This term, parents will receive assessments from teachers via PAM (Parental Access Module in SIMON) for English, Mathematics and Inquiry plus Specialists (Art, Chinese, Drama, Music and PE) for Prep to Year 2 classes.  Teachers will email parents once assessments have been uploaded.

Berry House Fundraiser

Congratulations to the students, staff and parents in Berry House.  Last Friday’s fundraiser made $463.00 for the CFA.  Well done on a tremendous effort.

Year 5/6 Camp

Next Monday sees our Year 5 and Year 6 students head to The Outside Inn at the Wannon for the first of our Junior School camps for 2025. The students will participate in a number of outdoor activities including canoeing, cycling, abseiling, climbing and bushwalking. The camp gives the opportunity for students to bond with each other and their teachers.

Spotlight on Myrniong Learning

Year 1

We have been sequencing numbers to 100 and we worked together to complete a giant number line.

Year 2 and 3

In Shared Inquiry, Year 2 and 3 are focusing on a Biological Science unit about living things. We have looked at the criteria that proves something is living, we have visited new planets to look for signs of life, we have researched particular living things and applied to live on Planet Zog based on our responses to the questions ‘Do you grow and change?, Do you need energy?, Do you reproduce?, and Do you respond to your environment?’ We are now learning to draw a scientific diagram of our animals with detailed labels showing their observable features.

Connections across the ditch

The Junior School SRC are about to embark on a reciprocal relationship with a school in the South Island of New Zealand. This year, we have linked with Clifton Terrace Primary School, in the city of Nelson. We will be sending their SRC some questions about their school and the programs they run, plus some information about our Year 5/6 camp. We look forward to learning about a school in a different country and, making some cross-Tasman connections.

Ganbatte Principle Six

Reinvention and Innovation as paths to success - embracing change and creativity. This perspective challenges the common notion that "reinventing the wheel" is a waste of time.  Instead, it encourages continuous innovation and personal growth, even in established fields or practices.

Benefits of reinvention:

  • Sparks creativity and fresh perspectives
  • Leads to unexpected discoveries and innovations
  • Allows for personal growth and skill development
  • Keeps industries and individuals competitive
  • Fosters adaptability in changing environment
