Presenting our school and talking to prospective families about all that we do well is vital for our ongoing success. For the past two weeks the College has had representatives at Australian schools’ exhibitions in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Hong Kong. I joined Registrar Susie Holcombe for the last legs in Guangzhou and Hong Kong and was fortunate to be able to meet with current parents, prospective College families, and to reconnect with our international student agents. Parents and agents are interested in the close care for students that our small size allows, to the quality of our facilities and to our excellent academic outcomes.

From China and Hong Kong, we will shift today to another global epicentre, Lucindale, for the South East Field Days. This event allows us to connect with many of our South Australian families and to engage with incoming and prospective students. As part of this road trip we are again hosting a South East SA Parent Drinks function at Katnook Estate in Penola. All parents are warmly invited to join us there at 6:00pm. A number of key staff and I will be there, and we look forward to speaking with parents who will be able to attend.

And then, this Sunday (23 March) is our Senior School Open Day. All families are welcome to attend; the day is a great chance to see areas of the school or programs that parents don’t get to see in the usual course of the school term. If you have friends or family soon to make the crucial decision about where to send their child for secondary school, please encourage them to come along. The program runs from 10:00am to 1:00pm, and the Boarding House and Equestrian Centre will be open from 11am to 1pm.

It's often hard to talk about ourselves or to ‘sell’ our achievements and best aspects. However, in the cases above it is important that we do. The quality of our students and our offerings really are second to none in our region, and we will continue to use every opportunity to share that fact and to engage warmly and openly with those interested in our school.
