Interschool Sport

On Friday 14th March our Interschool Sport teams competed at the Summer Lightening Prem, it was a great day filled with many highlights and great sporting performances.

A big thank you to our staff that assisted on the day and throughout the season. Along with our parent helpers, who came along to support on the day, days like these aren't possible without your support.

See below a review of the day from our 2025 House Captains and Year 5 student Nathan R who stepped up to write a review for the Volleyball team.

Girls Cricket

On Friday 14th of March, all Year 6 Girls Cricket teams across our district joined together at Mentone Grammar Playing Fields for an exciting day filled with cricket games. Each team played 3 matches. We arranged our batting and bowling pairs to ensure each player was involved in all games. We had some great accomplishments including; Amelia getting a hattrick, Summer and Lacey hitting a 6 in the double zone and Mackenzie taking some phenomenal catches. With all our hard work, we won all our games and are off to Kingston Division in Term 4.

Boys Cricket

On Friday 14th of March, the boys cricket team competed for a chance to continue through to the Kingston Division competition. The team competed in the A pool so there was no messing around. We played three games and won the first two, putting us in the final against Southmoor. We won the toss and elected to bowl first knowing they were a strong batting side. The first ball was delivered and smashed over the boundary for six, but we remained calm and composed. Then the wickets rolled in. Our fielding was impeccable and we weren’t dropping any catches. We took nine wickets when the innings had ended. It was a tight game towards the end of our batting inning but Troy Kiel kept the game going by hitting huge six straight down the ground into the double zone. Another highlight was Marlow’s big catch and Ethan’s eighteen runs off the final 3 balls to put us over the line, a clutch performance. All in all, we had a great day and are looking forward to Kingston Division in Term 4.

Tennis

The boys and girls tennis teams competed in A Grade.

The Boys team had victories over Stella Maris and Mentone Grammar, placing third in our division. We played fairly and with good sportsmanship. Overall, we gave it our best shot, and had lots of fun.

The Girls Tennis team faced some challenges in a strong A Grade division, only beating Mentone Grammar, placing 4th out of 5 schools. We played with compassion and determination, trying as hard as we could. All in all, we tried our best and enjoyed every moment.

Tee Ball

Cheltenham Tee Ball team competed in the Lightning Premiership 2025, playing at the Mentone Grammar Playing Fields. The boys and girls played in the B Pool and both had great runs!

The girls played 3 games. Winning 1 and losing 2. A huge effort from our girls team who were short on players due to some students being unavailable on the day.

The boys team played 2 matches and won both! We beat Kingston Heath and Stella Maris. The highlight of the day was Ari hitting a big home run getting 3 of his teammates home as well.
