Changes to Reporting in 2025

At Essendon North Primary, we value the communication of student learning and growth, as it encourages students to actively engage in their progress, enables teachers to provide targeted support, and strengthens partnerships with families to ensure every child reaches their full potential.
As a Victorian Government School, we are mandated to implement, assess, and report on the new English 2.0 and Mathematics 2.0 curriculum in 2025. As we continue to deepen our understanding of the new curriculum, we are in the process of thoroughly reviewing and refining our reporting documentation to ensure full alignment with the updated achievement standards.
With the recent curriculum changes, we have updated our approach to reporting on student learning and growth. In 2025, students will no longer receive a Learning Update at the end of Term One or Term Three. Instead, formal reports detailing student progress and achievement will be provided twice this year; in Semester One (Term Two) and Semester Two (Term Four), as required by the Department of Education.
We appreciate the ongoing support of our families as we implement these changes and adapt to the new curriculum. At ENPS, we recognise the importance of strong home and school partnerships in fostering student success. By working together, we can support every child in their learning journey and celebrate their growth along the way. If you have any feedback in regards to our student reports moving forward, please don’t hesitate to send me an email via Alice.Stephens@education.vic.gov.au.
