Principal's Message

How quickly a term goes by! It is hard to believe we have already completed a quarter of the year. Our Foundation students are well and truly settled into school, our Year Sixes are starting to think about where they will be heading for high school, while enrolments soon open for our 2026 Foundation students!
A big shout out this week to Tiffany (5RZ) who was an absolute superstar as our ENPS representative at the Regional Swimming Carnival on Tuesday. Congratulations to Tiffany on your efforts. We are incredibly proud of you.
A shout out also to our amazing parents who have been connecting to classrooms this term and sharing with us in our learning experiences. We are so grateful when we can capitalise on our parent and local community to enrich our units of inquiry. Check out great examples of this in the Year Three and Year Two newsletter sections this newsletter!
Staffing Update
As we wrap up the term, we will see a staffing change as we head in to Term Two. Emma Gallagher will return briefly at the start of next term before heading off on Family Leave in Week One. Emma and her husband (our very own) Connor Smith will be welcoming their second child, and baby girl, in May. Angelina Cetin will be joining our ENPS staff team as the teacher for 5EG for the remainder of 2025. Angelina met the class last Monday and has already begun working with the Year Five team.
We will also have a number of staff capitalising on an extended break as we head into Term Two. Alice McKenzie, Alice Stephens, Darcy Wynd, Claire Taylor, Ayesha Katz and Melissa Paola will all be on leave for Week One. Angela Collins will also be on leave for Week One and Two.
With the public holidays on the bookends of Week One (Easter Monday and ANZAC Day) we acknowledge that some of our staff may not be the only ones making the most of the short working week. If your child will be absent during Week One, we ask that families please log this ahead of time on Compass as an absence as soon as possible.
Cultural Inclusion Calendar
Following on from our wonderful celebrations for Cultural Diversity Week, and as we hop into Easter in the coming weeks, we thought we would share with you our Cultural Inclusion Calendar in this newsletter (click here to view). Please take a moment to read and let us know if we have missed a special date/event for your family so we can include as well.
2026 Open Day and Enrolments
We will be hosting our Open Day on Thursday the 1st of May, with tours being conducted at 9am, 12pm, 2pm and 5pm. Due to popularity, we have now also opened up a further session on Friday 2nd May at 9:30am. While our School Captains host Open Day, we look forward to our Year Five and Six students who will be our special tour leaders throughout the day!
We take the opportunity to remind families that we do have a school enrolment policy and rigorous accountability regarding taking enrolments from within our school boundary. Enrolments for 2026 Foundation students will open on Tuesday the 22nd of April. If you have a child starting school in 2026, we request that you begin that application process so we can ensure your child's enrolment. Look out for further information coming on Compass and contact the office if you have any questions.
ANZAC Day Dawn Service
A reminder to families if you would like your child to represent our school at the ANZAC Day Dawn Service at Keilor East RSL, please contact me via email at kate.barletta@education.vic.gov.au by the end of today, Friday 4th April.
Further information can be found in this newsletter.
Walk-a-thon
We are all super excited for our Walk-a-thon to be held on Friday 9th May! Just by fundraising, your child will receive a prize and help our school. Please check Compass for regular updates, including prize booklets, details for the day and other information. Create your online fundraising account here.
We encourage all of our mums and mother figures to save the date too as we will be starting our Walk-a-thon day with our Mother's Day morning and hope all of our mums and mother figures will join us to start the day. More details to come next term!
Student of the Week Lunches
I’ve been really loving my special Thursday lunches with the Student of the Week token recipients. Last week I had the pleasure of lunching with Isela (FAM) and Krishti (3JK) and their selected friends Alby (FHM) and An (3JK). This week we had an early draw and four recipients due to no assembly last week and instead of assembly today. It was a joy to lunch with Nirvin (FTW), Ally (2CE), Sebastian (5JM) and Berk (5AJ). Congratulations to all of our students who have be awarded token for being safe, kind and/or respectful this week and throughout the term! The ideas they have been sharing to improve our school have been fabulous. I look forward to next term with some new ideas and awards coming up!
Wishing everyone a fantastic holiday break and a very 'hoppy' Easter. We will see you all next term from Tuesday 22nd April.
