I hope everyone had a restful Easter break (in amongst seeding) and enjoyed the great weather we are experiencing. Term 1 seemed to fly by, with our programs and activities being jam-packed right up until the holiday break.
ANZAC Service
On Wednesday, we held an ANZAC service to honour the sacrifices of our service men and women. Graham Cooper, College Board Chair and RSL Sub-branch president, gave an address. Our students showed great respect during the service.
North West Tour
Year 11 students recently embarked on our annual North West Tour, exploring the Pilbara and Ningaloo Coast. Highlights included experiencing life on Nallan cattle station, visiting the spectacular and culturally significant Karijini National Park, touring the Rio Tinto mine and Rhodes hay centre pivot irrigation enterprises in Tom Price, and learning about marine conservation at Ningaloo Reef. A huge thanks to the staff who planned and attended this memorable trip.
Year 12s
Year 12 students are approaching the finish line, balancing their final theory and practical requirements. As they reflect on their journey, I encourage parents to check in on their progress and well-being. If students need support or are feeling anxious about life after school, our Student Services Team is available to help.
New Chaplain
Please welcome Carly Wright, our new Chaplain, who will support students two days a fortnight. Carly brings valuable experience from her work in regional areas. This role complements our existing Student Services Team, including Mrs Kylie Squiers (Wellbeing Coordinator), Miss Lola Slocombe (Youth Support Officer), and Miss Amira Cooper (School Psychologist).
Staffing
We are still seeking farm staff, a butcher, a construction trainer, and casual staff in various areas. If you or someone you know is interested in these positions, please contact the College for more information
Wishing you all a productive and prosperous seeding season.
