This week we celebrated Harmony Day which highlighted all the amazing cultural groups at St Peter’s College. The main theme this year is “Harmony -We All have a role to play” and our libraries contribute to inclusiveness by offering a wide range of literature that encourages our students to learn about people from all around the world.

One of our most memorable books is by former Australian tennis star Jelana Dokic who has overcome many of life’s setbacks to blossom into a popular sports commentator . Jelana writes about how moving to Australia from war-torn Yugoslavia helped her forge her role in life based on values of fairness and a fighting spirit. “Fearless” by Jelena Dokic is subtitled “Finding power to thrive” explaining how she reclaimed her life when all felt lost by speaking up after trauma and heartbreak.
